When I'm down on myself for my art skills I find that im far less creative and end uninspired to pick up a pencil. I think you have to recognize the good in your work as well because if all you see is the bad then of course your going to feel blocked. This is nice little sketch, and the pose below has nice aspects to it. They just both need some more attention and love. Remember everyone has a million bad drawings in them, you jsut have to get them out before you can start doing the amazing stuff.

I agree with Dan 100%. I think you are starting to make some breakthroughs in your posing and structure.

One thing I try to do when I'm hitting a creative wall is to just take a drawing that I'm somewhat happy with and redraw it over and over again changing little things each time. Then start taking that drawing, doesn't matter if it's a character or layout, and start to sketch it from different angles or poses. After all that I usually end up with a few sketchbook pages full....really helps to get over the creative block. The other thing you can do is surf the blogs of other artists. That usually gets me inspired to draw, sculpt or animate.

i had thought about digging through an old s.c.e.t.c.h. book :P and maybe re-working an old character or something. I've seen a lot of people re-drawing old drawings lately to see the improvement. Maybe I'll do that when i get some time, but as of right now I'm really looking forward to the trip to the zoo tomorrow!

Hey, Lisa, I just discovered your blog today. There's some nice looking stuff here. I see nothing really wrong with this Zelda picture. But, hey, if you're not satisfied, by all means keep working on it.

Are you working anywhere right now?
